FORMAT

Qualification

Entries and re-entries, 6 games.

32 athletes will qualify for the final steps.

Top 24 from the general standing.

Places 25-32 will go to the following:

  • Best male and female 50+
  • Best boy and girl U18
  • Best male and female from Early Bird

The final 2 spots (places 31 and 32) will be given to TURBO high Game 5 and 6. (Only if athlete participates in Turbo before block). Higher game gets higher seed.

Athletes positioned 1-8 in the qualification are qualified for the final step 3

Athletes positioned 9-16 in the qualification are qualified for the final step 2

Athletes positioned 17-32 in the qualification are qualified for the final step 1

Final Step 1:

Athletes positioned 17-32 will participate in best of 3 matches. The highest seeded athlete will be matched against the lowest seeded athlete. There will be 8 matches, best of three games. The losers of the matches will be ranked 25-32 according to their seeding.

Final Step 2:

Winners of Finals step 1 and athletes positioned 9-16 in qualifying will participate in best of 3 matches. There will be 8 matches, best of three games. The losers of the matches will be ranked 17-24 according to their seeding.

Final Step 3:

Winners of Finals step 2 and athletes positioned 1-8 in qualifying will participate in best of 3 matches. There will be 8 matches, best of three games. The losers of the matches will be ranked 9-16 according to their seeding.

Final Step 4:

Winners of final step 3 qualify for final step 4. There will be 4 matches, best of three games. Winners qualify for semifinals. The losers of the matches will be ranked 5-8 according to their seeding.

Final Step 5:

Winners of final step 4, qualify for semi finals and finals. Final step 5 will be broadcast on national television (RUV) and streamed live via the internet. All four athletes play together on same pair 1 game, lowest score eliminated (loser is placed 4th in tournament). Athletes will play another game (scores will be reset) with lowest score eliminated (loser is placed 3rd in tournament). The remaining two athletes will play 1 game (scores will be reset) to decide the champion of RIG 2022, loser is placed 2nd in tournament. *Score is set to 0 after each game in semifinals and finals (which means scores do not carry forward). All athletes playing in semifinals and finals are required to wear jerseys given to them by tournament host for the finals. Sponsor patches are allowed to be on jerseys in finals.

Tournament tie rules
All Qualification competitions, excepts the Turbo

The highest positioned athlete will be the athlete scoring the highest last game. If a tie still exists, the highest positioned athlete will be the athlete with the highest second last game etc.

Turbo

The highest positioned athlete will be the highest positioned athlete after the qualification.

Final Step 1-5

In case of a tie in any game in any match, a one ball roll off on a full set of pins will be played, repeated until the tie is broken
